While the weekend brought with it many shows, I decided to focus on a songwriter that I hadn’t yet had the chance to catch in-person: Andrew Gelles.
Gelles recently played at the 1844 Table & Mash for its unplugged series that takes place every Saturday, and I was lucky enough to catch part of his set.

Gelles at The 1844
Andrew Gelles is a skilled guitar player, and he has a voice that reminds me in a way of ‘90s blues rockers. While he generally plays live with his band, Saturday he went acoustic and also used his loop to fill in the space his band normally would. Finger-picking his way through at least the parts of his set I saw, Gelles really gave an incredible, laidback performance at the 1844 Table & Mash Saturday, April 25, 2026.
Gelles is definitely an artist that Kenosha people should keep track off and go see the next time he’s playing in the area.
Check out a clip from his performance and a few photos below.

Bourbon Underground Open Mic
The Bourbon Underground Open Mic in Uptown Kenosha happens on Monday nights, and it is the only one that I make it out to every single week. While this is partly because it is our only open mic on Mondays, it is also because it has a different feel than the rest. It’s very much a place that musicians go to both perform and hang out with each other and catch up each week.
I snapped some photos of people who performed at the mic this past Monday, April 29, and you can check out those shots below.
