I still see you.

I see you everywhere. 

I see you in the last flicker
of a dream I don’t want to leave. 

I see you in how my sheets crease over 
the empty side of my bed.

I see you in the way 
the sun dances on my kitchen floor
as my cat bats 

     at 
           each 
 passing 
               shadow.

I see you in the cloud my breath creates
as I walk in the cold.

I see you in every work of art
crafted by lovers throughout all of time. 

Because you are the way I drink my coffee.

You are the subtle creak in my knuckles as I play a song.

You are the skip in my heartbeat when I smile.

You are the part of my mind that recognizes beauty.

You are the poetry in every bone and sinew of my being.

You are simply part of me. 

And I hope that feeling never leaves, though you have.

Though these glimpses now are the only space where
        
        for 
               one
beautiful
               moment,
