The American Dream

The American dream

Is no longer a loving family

And smiling maid keeping things clean

Behind the scenes

But an addiction and affair convincingly hid

From your children

Closeted with the tapestry

Of your stagnant dreams

A maze of malnourished mice

Promising no reward of feast

Only the artificial scent of food

Somewhere just out of reach

As you enviously scroll

Through lives deceptively at peace

Playing a constant game

Of emotional catch and release

Force-fed a whitewashed, blue-eyed

caricature of a Jewish man

Leaving blonde hairs

On a well-manicured cross

Left to the mercy

Of greedy gods

In well-pressed suits

Promising they’ll let him save us for a cost

If every person who visited this site so far had left even just $1, I could pay my bills for two months at this point.

Never think throwing a single at me here and there doesn’t make a big difference.
